I love this episode of Friends b/c I too have a secret closet. Ok, it's not as bad as Monica's but I feel like it is sometimes. We've been using one of our hallway closets as our "office". Well now it looks more like an office. Pictures coming soon!

My conversation with Levi

Me: Yes that is Jesus. Levi, where did Jesus go?
Levi: Jesus, car, night night, his house.
Me: Did Jesus get in the car to go to sleep at his house?
Levi: Jesus weep (asleep) pillow (meaning Jesus is asleep on a pillow).
I love the innocence of our precious children that Heavenly Father has sent to us.

Projects Galore!!
I have been working on several projects all at once. I didn't think it would that big of a deal b/c they aren't huge projects. They are just simple little things. But when you take a lot of simple little things it then becomes a BIG thing. So I have finally finished my projects that I started. Only now I have 2 other BIGGER projects that I want to start. Not to brag, but I am proud of what I did. I have discovered that I can be quite crafty and I have become good at using wood putty and spray paint. I'm not so much creative but I do enjoy taking other people's ideas and trying to copy what they did. I won't take credit for coming up with the idea but I will be proud of myself for copying it. :)
Candlesticks: My cost $4. I found these candlesticks at Goodwill for $2 each. They had a pretty wood color but there were just too many dings and scratches. I really didn't like the look of the candlesticks being the same size. So I cut out a section to make them different heights. I glued the parts back together and sprayed them with oil rubbed bronze paint. Ta da!
Picture frames: My total cost $30. This was a great deal to me. I found these horrible colored frames at Goodwill for $5.99 each. A picture frame like this would have easily cost $15-$20 a piece, maybe more at Walmart or Target. But I knew I could paint these and make them look brand new again. Then at Hobby Lobby I found artwork that was half price for $15. The pictures came with a matt but I didn't end up using the matt for the finished product. Wood putty, primer and paint and I have nice frames. These are now over our nightstands in our bedroom. I will have a picture of that later when I finish accessorizing in there.
Cloche: My total cost $3.25. I found a cheese dome at Goodwill for $2.25 and a candlestick for $.99. I glued the two pieces together after priming and painting them. I love this little decoration in my kitchen. I can do so many things with this. I'm seeing so many different seasonal decorations in this little guys future
This last project was all Matt's hard work. He worked for 3 weekends straight to get all of this work completed. Not to mention it was hotter than you know where each weekend. The previous owners put down the pavers in the backyard as a patio. We never liked the look and the bricks were uneven. We've wanted to get rid of these for a long time especially after Levi fell and broke his nose by tripping on the pavers. So we sold all of the pavers on craigslist for $200. We took that money and bought all of the flagstone from someone else on craigslist for $120. We used the rest of the money to buy sand, grass, and dirt. Matt had to cut up all of the sod and put it in between all of the cracks. I honestly wanted to help him so this would be done faster but I had to stay with Jaxon. So the patio itself was FREE!! We didn't pay a dime out of pocket for it. That is what I love. The table, chairs, and gazebo were on clearance at Target and we paid $200 total for everything. We had no shade in our backyard so this was much needed and well worth the investment. We love it! Thank you Matt for all of your hard work and sweat. We can't wait to sit out there in the fall and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Pirate Mast: My cost $11-$12. Pottery Barn $100. I needed to find a curtain that already had holes in the top. The only thing that I could find that was close to that was a shower curtain. I bought the shower curtain at Target for $10. I cut it down to the size I wanted and sewed her right up!! The curtain is hanging on wooden dowels that I got at Lowes for around $1.50. Matt painted the dowels with paint we already had so that = FREE. Also, the rope we already had. The letter "L" was a challenge for me. I thought about getting the L embroidered but that was expensive. Then I tried to find something I could iron on that looked embroidered. But no such luck. Then I bought some iron on fabric from Walmart for $5 and printed out the L. I cut it out and ironed it right on. Looking back I should have just done that from the beginning and saved myself a lot of time. I bought the iron on fabric with a gift card so that was free as well! The felt was about $.50 at Walmart. I printed out the skull and cut it out on the iron on fabric. Done! Good job!!
Dining room light fixture: My cost $10. This took a can of primer and a can of oil rubbed bronze spray paint. The previous owners of our house took down this fixture and shoved it in the back of our attic. They hung up this cute tea light candle fixture that we never touched. I thought for sure we would have some romantic dinner with that....yeah right!! So down it came and up went this beauty. I still want to add some shades to this light fixture. I just haven't found the right ones yet. With this light plus the recessed lighting already in there it is pretty bright. But we do have a dimmer to help out.

My next 2 projects involve the fireplace and entertainment center. I can't wait to finish those projects. I started these projects b/c I felt our house was lacking in the decor department. There really wasn't any artwork or accessories that brighten or lighten a room. I still have some other ideas and things I want to do but when I am finished it will all look amazing. Yogurt Face
You would think that I would learn my lesson about falling asleep while Levi is awake when he colored on our fireplace and walls with orange crayon. Seriously...I fell asleep for 5 minutes and I woke up to my creamy walls painted with orange crayon. Yesterday I put Levi down for a nap and before he fell asleep he pooped 2 times. After the 2nd diaper I thought for sure he didn't have anything left. So I laid him down and went in our room for just a quick little nap. I woke up to a loud noise in our kitchen 1 hour later. I go out and there is Levi playing in our refrigerator and his face is covered in yogurt!! No lie...there was not one part of his face that didn't have yogurt on it. I buy Levi the little kids yogurts and there was 7-8 of them in a drawer. He had opened every single one of them and taken bites out of all of them and put them back in the drawer. His face was stained pink from all the strawberry and cherry yogurt!! I don't think Levi ever went to sleep b/c he had pooped a 3rd time. So I cleaned him up and by this time it was too late for him to take a nap. He was crying b/c he got in trouble on top of being tired. So I just kept his diaper off and we laid down on the couch. Levi fell asleep on my chest for a little over an hour. All was right in the world again! I haven't been able to snuggle with Levi like that in a very long time. I love my little sneaky Levi. 
I had my cell phone close by so I grabbed it to take a picture of us. I'm not mad in the picture I just didn't want to move too much and wake Levi up.

Where to start!
I'm not exactly sure where to start with this post. We have had so much going on lately but I guess I will just start from the beginning.
Many of you have heard that Matt will be starting a new job on August 2nd. We could not feel more blessed and lucky to have found this job. For the last 2 years Matt has been driving from Wylie to Ft. Worth everyday for work. That is 1 hour each way. At first it is great b/c this was his first job out of college. But after 2 years of the driving we had to find something else. The thing about Matt's career field is that jobs are so hard to come by. If you do find a job chances are that it will not pay well either. In the health/wellness field you have to basically work your way up by experience. At the beginning of June Matt applied for a job at Concentra. After 4 interviews he was offered the job!! This job will have some travel involved but not much. It will definitely be a step up in his career. Also, Matt will not be driving an hour each way. His commute just got cut in half. We are super excited to start on this new journey.
My birthday was on June 28 and I am now 28. I'm so close to 30 and it scares me. I don't want to be 30 yet. I've enjoyed my 20's and I want to stay right where I am. For my birthday Matt and I went and saw Wicked. If you have not seen this play....GO NOW!! I don't care what the tickets cost it is worth every penny. Wicked was more of a birthday/anniversary gift but either way we loved it. My parents got me a gift card to my favorite decorating store Target! It didn't take me long to spend that bad boy. Then I also treated myself to a gym membership at 24 Hr Fitness. I hate paying so much for a membership but I get time away from kids so it's a nice break for me. Then Matt also surprised me with a trip to Colorado. Turns out though we aren't going to be able to go to Colorado. Matt has to stay here and train the new-hire that will be replacing him. It's ok though b/c I get car sick and they are paying out Matt's vacation time for doing the training. So we are actually making money by staying here instead.
June was a very good month for us. It flew by so fast! Lately I have been on a decorating kick. But I try to do it all for cheap. I shop at Goodwill or Salvation Army. I try to find things that I can reuse and make look brand new. Also, I have been working on Levi's pirate room. We are about half way done with it. I can't wait to show the big reveal of what all I have been doing in there. I found my "inspiration room" and it is very expensive. So I have been trying to do everything for less than what the decorators paid to do the fancy room. I think I have been doing a pretty darn good job. Here is a sneak peek at what I have done!

Itsy Bitsy Spider
Even though today started out around 5 am, this is a day that I want to remember. According to Matt, Jax is completely in love with me. Jax will watch my every move. He gets mad if I am not in the room or if I take my eyes off of him for one second. If Matt is holding Jax he will look around until he spots me. I love this b/c before I know it Jax will be Levi's age and will be over the "I'm so in love with Mommy" stage.
This morning Jax woke up at 5. Normally, he doesn't wake up until 6:30 so I knew he was still tired. Our bedroom is on the other side of the house from the kids room so I took Jax in our room so he didn't wake up Levi. Jax wasn't really crying just a little whine every now and then. I started to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider to Jax and he calmed right down. Now, I don't have the voice like Celine Dion by any means. But for whatever reason Jax liked it. I sang this song to him from 6:00-6:25 while swaying back and forth with Jax in my arms. I have put Jax down for 2 naps since this morning and both times I sang Itsy Bitsy Spider over and over. He calmed down each time. This may be a total fluke and he may not like this silly song tomorrow or even later today but I love these moments. I am so grateful that I get to be the one to sing my baby to sleep.

Cars and Bottles
Everywhere I turn I trip over cars and bottles! When I say bottles I don't mean baby bottles. I mean an empty formula can, juice bottle, chocolate milk mix can, etc... Levi likes to play with any sort of container that is empty. Kinda strange but cute at the same time. I like to watch what he does with the bottles. Levi will put his cars in the containers and carry them outside to the sandbox or sometimes he will just carry them around the house. Yesterday he was pretending like one of the containers was a shoe. Then later he was using it as a drum. I love moments like this where Levi will use his imagination and let it go wild. The life of a 2 year old...it's great!!
