Jaxon Riley Young

I know I am a bit late in posting this but I have been occupied the last few weeks. So here is the latest with the Young family. Jaxon Riley Young arrived on February 26, 2010 at 7:42 am. He weighted 8 lbs 4.9 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Everything went smoothly and I am getting better each day from my c-section.

I went to my weekly dr checkup on February 25th and there was no change with the baby. I was not dilated at all and the baby had not dropped. I had told my dr the previous week that if there was no change that I wanted to go ahead and do the c-section. As much as I wanted to try to have a VBAC, I wanted our baby to be here more and I also wanted my body back. So on the 26th Matt and I checked into Presbyterian Hospital of Plano at 6:00 am. I was nervous to have another c-section b/c my recovery with Levi was so rough. But I sucked it up and went through with it. I think for me the scariest part was getting poked so many times. It seems I always get myself so worked up before I get any type of shot or needle stuck in me.

Matt was there the whole time cheering me on. He has been so amazing taking care of us. I came home from the hospital the following Monday. We were so excited to have our family together. But we found out the next day the Levi was sick with RSV and strep. So we had to keep Levi away from Jaxon the whole week. Levi didn't understand why and he was very confused as to who this new person was. Needless to say, it was a rough week. But we survived and now we are getting close to 1 month with Jaxon.

I can't believe that I now have 2 kids. It is still strange to me to say that I have children and not just a child. I love my boys more than anything and I hope that they will be best buds!

Jaxon coming out of me. I've always wondered what my insides look like!

Levi was so curious about who or what we brought home.

Snow in Texas

This week we were so lucky to get 1 whole foot of snow! This just doesn't happen here in Texas. I have lived here my whole life and the last time that we received this much was when I was in high school. It was awesome! Matt and I were so excited but Levi still hasn't come around to the snow. Last March we were in Wyoming and Levi didn't like the snow then either. But it doesn't help that he doesn't like to wear gloves so that makes his poor hands freeze.

My wonderful and amazing friend Mandie took some beautiful pictures of Levi playing in the snow. Mandie is so talented and I appreciate her taking the time to capture these moments. These pictures bring me to tears b/c I look at Levi and he is just so precious. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

I love this picture. Levi is doing what Matt and I call the "pirate eye". Sometimes in pictures Matt squints one eye. Don't ask me why...it just happens. Levi does the same thing and it's the exact same eye! They are so much alike.

The nursery is complete!

Matt and I worked so hard on this nursery. It seems like it has taken us forever to complete everything. But after about 2 1/2 months we have it finished. The absolute last thing that we need to do is to get a new ceiling fan. But that is no big deal! We started out by adding crown molding. Let me just say that I am so proud of Matt for doing the crown molding. He has tried to figure out how to do molding before and it just has never worked. But this time he stuck to it and it all came together. It looks perfect! After the molding we started working on the murals. When I ordered the murals I didn't realize how time consuming it was going to be to put them up. Me being the anal perfectionist that I am, had to make sure that everything always lined up correctly and looked exactly right. By the end of it, Matt and I had a pretty good system down of getting the murals up quickly. So here it is....

The vines from the tree around the closet door continue on to these two walls. We will actually be putting the crib here so it won't look blank forever. We just haven't moved Levi out of the crib yet. That is a whole other adventure.

This is the wall that is right behind the bedroom door. Now we just need a baby to put in the room. Only 30 days left! My dr said at my appointment last week that I will have another sonogram around week 37-38. I'm excited for that since we haven't seen the baby since week 16. I'm anxious to see how big this guy is! So that's it! I think we did a pretty good job!
